Title: Dunoon Taylor
Post by: Kray on Friday 16 October 09 07:03 BST (UK)
Can someone help me please? I am trying to find out information on the following person, I have tried contacting local historical people, but noone has answered. In the early 1960's my father took me to visit a great uncle in Dunoon. My g uncle was a taylor and he made beautiful kilts etc. for pipe bands. He would have been around 70 years old at the time, I think. I am not sure which side of my family he was on, I think my father's,  he would be a Pollock or Nelson. My grandfather was Donald Pollock and he married Agnes Lamont Nelson. Thank you for your help - Kray

Hi Kray, a quick glance at deaths in Dunoon on ScotlandsPeople with the criteria "male", 1970-2006, age 65-95 reveals five Pollocks and three Nelsons, so if no one local answers your query, you could just try looking at DCs!

Guid hunting,

Thrall

Hi Prophetess,

Just realized that I spelt tailor incorrectly - how stupid it that! Thank you for your kind offer of help, was very busy the other day and did a quick reply. At the moment I do not need help in Dunoon, apart from finding out this name. I should really have some rellies still in the area, if I can remember their names/surnames. I used to have such a good memory!!!! - best wishes - Kray
