Welcome to Rootschat. You'll need to give us more informantion like dates before we can help you. Also, let us know where you've already searched so you don't post details you already have found or checked.
-
hi,,have you searched the 1911 census for Ireland ???
-
My grandfather James was born in 1919 and his father was Hugh Hawthorne who was one of 10 brothers (8 of which served in WW1).
Andrew
-
This might be Hugh's parents with some of the children in 1911 census-

If we are going to try to help find information for you, or make suggestions about where to search next, you really do need to tell us exactly what you want and where you've search already. The above census record might be new to you or maybe you already have seen it but we have no way of knowing until you provide some more details.

If Aghadowey's suggestion is correct then William Hawthorne Married Eliza Anne Dixon on 10 Oct 1869 in Magheragall Church of Ireland.

My great grandmother, Mary Hawthorn, born about 1830, the daughter of John and Mary (unknown), married John Thompson on 13 May 1853 in Moira Parish Church.
Their children were James, George and Isabella.
Do any of these names figure in your family tree ?

Hi there, just spotted this post. My grandfather was William Hawthorne, one of the brothers of Hugh. Most of the info you have is correct. My daughter had been working on the family tree pre lockdown and by chance my husband an I were visiting Ireland. I contacted the minister at Magragall (Rev Dark) who is a font of knowledge on the family. He has been contacted over the years from family members far and wide. We had one living relative still living there and he had been working tirelessly to have two family members whose names had been missed from the war memorial in Lisburn. He was successful and their names were added in the last few years.

Welcome to RootsChat :)
My grandfather was William Hawthorne, one of the brothers of Hugh.
Would this be your grandfather with his brother Hugh in the 1901 census?

Your great grandfather Hugh and my grandfather William were brothers. There is a really good article posted a few years ago which was sent to me by Rev Dark re the names of the two brothers being put onto the war memorial in Lisburn. If I can figure out I’ll send you the link. Most of the brothers and a brother-in-law and a cousin also fought in the Great War. All joined an Irish regiment except for my grandfather who joined a Scottish one! Don’t know why but we’re all Scottish! My father was called James !
