You may want to try the following internet sites to see if you can get information on the burial:
MortonhallCrematorium[at][/blue]edinburgh.gov.uk (Replace [at] with @) for a referral to the East Preston Street site and additional information about plot direction, number, etc.

Hi There,Just to say that in the next few days I am going to East Preston Street cememtry as I am also looking for some one who may be buried there. I shall take you details and possibly get a pcture for you when I am there. It is a very small cemetry, on the corner of a very busy road, opposite the Commonwealth Pool.
Regards,
Lynda

Hi there,
If by any chance someone is heading to this cemetry- would really appreciate it if they could help me out. Stuck trying to find a William Calder and not finding much information. Found an oblique reference saying ‘William Calder, formerly Lord Provost of Edinburgh, died 19th Aug 1824’ in Newington [Old] Burial Ground. Spoke to Morton Hall Cremetorium but unfortunately still unsure.
Much appreciated!!

Have you looked at YouTube - search for East Preston Street cemetery - there is a 5 minute video showing lots of the gravestones. Not sure if this will help you or not.

I'll take another look- but at first run through no luck :'(
Thanks for the suggestion though!

Not sure if this is any help but I was looking through some photographs I took in East Preston Street in 2012 and came across this photo of the memorial to William Calder, Lord Provost - unfortunately its badly weathered.

Hi Dexile,
This is the wonder of RootsChat, you already have the photograph of the MI of the subject of another open post. Terrific.
