I'm trying to trace my GGGGrandparents on the 1861 census and having no luck!!!
Could you please look up Henry & Martha Bate (Ages 54 & 50 approx) and their son, William (age 15). They should be around the Wednesfield area of Wolverhampton.
Thanks,
Stephen Bate

Hi Steve,
I couldn't find Henry and Martha (but then again I saw on another of your posts that Martha was dead by 1861 ???) but I may have found son William along with his brother James:
RG9/2002
Folio 63 p. 16
Wednesfield St Thomas
Address 5 Neachell
James Bate, head, 21, Coal miner b. Staffs Wolverhampton
Elizabeth do. ,wife, 19, b. do.
William do., brother, 15, b. Wednesfield Heath
Henry do., lodger, unm, 19, Coal miner b. Wolverhampton
There also is a Henry Bate in Wolverhampton, age 46 born Cornwall, coal miner, along with a wife Margaret age 48 b. Manchester...
Cheers
