Post by: lindagene on Friday 09 October 09 20:25 BST (UK)

Help!

Today I got a message from Lyn? who told me that she had Bakers and Offords in her family tree, and may have information for me.
I LOST IT!
I don't know how.

If this was you, please please send again

Just noticed your message under this thread and what caught my eye was the interest you have in the Pledgers of Great Bardfield. I have no interest in the name myself but I do know there are lots of Pledgers in Arkesden and Ashen (neither of which are, so far as I can tell, included in IGI). In Ashen baptisms go from 1615-1779 (at least) and in Arkesden from 1753-1790 (at least).
If you already know this sorry to have been superfluous ;D

Thats strange, I've never had a Pledger query on here before, and this evening there's been two  8)

I've not been able to find a baptism for my Gt Bardfield chap - I really focussed on going forward. One day I'll chase it up !

Essex RO have made the registers for those 2 parishes available online for free from the date they started right up to almost modern tiimes.
I have not yet completed a transcript but if you want to tell me which bod(s) you seek I'll see what my notes tell me.
I have only really looked at the Baptisms so far but there are quite a few knocking about there
