There is a family lair in Riddrie Park Cemetery and I was under the impression that if you contacted Glasgow City Council with details of who was buried in the lair they would supply you with the lair number.
However, I have had an email this week saying they require a payment of £61 for this information now.
Is there anywhere else I can find this out?
I have details of most of the people buried in the lair, but none seem to appear on the index on the memento mori website.
thanks, Jo

I don't think the Mitchell Library has any records for Riddrie Park, but You might want to ask anyway.
Also, if you know or can guess which funeral provider was involved, some of them keep their own records and may be willing to look them up for you. It depends how far back you are wanting to go.
For instance, I knew the lair number at Riddrie Park, but was unsure how many/who was in the grave. (No gravestone) I guessed that my family would probably have used the Co-operative Funeral Care (we are talking from 1940s to 1960s). Luckily, they did, and I got the detail I needed from them.
I don't think they would take kindly to being besieged by requests, but you could try contacting them and asking. They can only say 'no'!

Thanks for your advice, however I have managed to find the grave by myself.
I knew it was in section G, but had no idea whereabouts as only my mother had been to the grave and that was 33 years ago.
It was just a case of trawling up and down each row until we managed to find it, but I'm very glad we did!

I'm glad you were able to find what you were looking for. However, in case you have the same problem again, or for the benefit of others who are searching for similar information, there is an excellent web site. It is :-
www.memento-mori.co.uk/
I highly reccomend it. These folks have helped me on countless occasions and are nowhere here as expensive. In fact, they can also supply a photograph of the grave.

Thanks for the link, I looked on that site and none of the relatives I'm looking for are listed there

Sorry Wildheart.
Only after sending my comment did I notice that you had already seen the Memento site.
It is new and is continually being updated and changed, so anyone who does not find what they are looking for should send them an e-mail. That usually gets them to focus on missing names immediately.

My next step was to email them to add on the names I know are buried there.
