Hello again David!

Does this help?
St. Hilary
James KING son of Jas. & Alice, 03rd. September, 1749.
-
Thanks, most certainly does help confirm I have the correct parentage!
Would you mind if I asked where you found this info as I have been searching for weeks!

Hi Jean
James was certainly the son of James and Alice, however I'm not certain that he's the one you're chasing. I think he may have married Elizabeth Pearce on the 16 Apr 1778.
There is another James King baptised 29 July 1750 in Perranuthnoe who married Mary Pascoe on 27 Dec 1784 and they went on to have eleven children. She was his second wife, the first was Prudence Vincent who died 11 Oct 1784. This James parents were John King and Elizabeth Freethy and they married 10 Apr 1743.
Please note I'm an amateur and am quite willing to stand corrected.
It's all good fun and keeps me off the streets !!
All the best - keep in touch
Regards
David King
PS : Get a copy of Daisy Mays " St Hilary Baptisms " CD - It's a little goldmine and worth every penny !

Thank you for the vote of confidence, David. I really appreciate it.

Hi David
It is my husband who is descended from the King family. His grandmother was a King from St Hilary. If you send me your e-mail address I will let you have the details (I haven't worked out yet how to send a private message!).

Hi,
I'm looking for information on John King who married Charlotte Courtis @ St. Hilary 17 January 1853. He was a widower: no age given ; Father James (am assuming parents were James King and Mary Pascoe---so born 13 Jan 1805)
John and Charlotte had children in 1854 and 1857.
Charlotte was listed as widow on the1861 Census. The only John buried in the interim (May 1860) was 50.
Who were his parents? his first wife? When did he die?
Hope somebody can help!
Thanks,
"Blue Heron"

Hello
This is just circumstantial.
In 1851 the only widowed John King is living at Higher Downs, St Hilary with children Nancy (Age 16) Mary (Age 12) and John (Age 10)
According to IGI the Mother of these children is Susanna (No Surname)
According to IGI there are also two other children Catherine (b 1832) and another Mary (b 1836)
Also in IGI John King of St Hilary marries Jane Susanna Sowden on 6 Apr 1832 at Maker Parish Church
In St Hilary Parish records, Susan King of Higher Downs is buried on 21 May 1849 (Cause of death - Dropsy)
In 1861 two of John & Susanna's children (John and Mary) are unmarried and lodging with another family
Also in 1851 Charlotte Curtis is unmarried and living in Relubbus Lane with a Nephew.
As I say this is only circumstantial but it may be of some use.
Night Night - Going to bed now
