Hi -
I'm looking for the family of Ralph Edward Carter in Vancouver, Washington in 1930. He should be a dentist (applied for license in 1924). He went to college across the river in Portland, Oregon. Should be born Idaho about 1897.
I know he was mayor of the city of Vancouver 1952-56.
---------
A bonus would be if I could also find his brother Claude (b. ca 1909) who married in 1938 but said he was living in Multnomah County, Oregon at the time. Sister was Alta who was married to George J. Fernea in 1928 and who lived life in Vancouver.
Parents were John E. and Laura (Percy) Carter who also lived Vancouver untils deaths in 1952 and 1962 respectively.
Thank you.
Nick

Nick, are you trying to find Claude on the 1930 census, or on any record after 1920?
-
1930 Hazel Dell, Clark County, Washington
John E Carter, born c1865 in Iowa. His father was born in Indiana and his mother was born in Ohio. Age at first marriage 31. He owned his home. Occupation: Owner, Aut? (looks like Auto ecunp) ???
Wife, Laura, age 57, born in Kansas. Age at first marriage: 23. Father born in England; mother born in Canada English.
Son, Harold, age 20, born in Washington. Single.
Boarder, Leonard Inclebon, age 38, divorced, born England. Immigrated 1923. Plumber, Independent.
They lived on Anderson Road.
Looks like Claude went by Harold, rather than Claude.

Lisa,
Yes, any record after 1920 is what I am after.
Excellent info on Claude (Harold). Earlier censuses he was Claude, and on his marriage license as well. I figured he might have been in WWII, but didn't have access to records so that is very helpful.
John E, father of Ralph, Claude and Alta was my first cousin thrice removed, and I am trying at this time to trace his descendants in case they are interested in the family history.

Sending by pm, a possible address for Claude, from 1993.
-
(PS Apparently, this Claude H also showed the same address for years 1995-1997.)
-
Sending information about Harold's birth.
And possible passing.

Claude/Harold is not listed on the Oregon death index (1903-1998). ???
