Title: Pentraeth, Anglesey
Post by: Lillytaff on Tuesday 06 October 09 20:39 BST (UK)
My g.g.Gradmother has Pentraeth as place of birth on every census with the exception of 1861 where it reads Redwharf.

I know that Redwharf Bay is near Pentraeth but does anyone know if there is/was a hamlet called Redwharf near to Pentraeth?

I would be gratefull for any help in this, i am trying to go back a generation to find her parents

Yes there is a hamlet of Red Wharf Bay which is next to Pentraeth.      Red Wharf has a few houses and the The Ship Inn down by the sea and a few houses and farms inland.    There was also a grocery shop up until about the 70s.  Best wishes. Gwyn.
