Hi i am looking into my families on my mothers side.
Her father was Mark Pringle born 28/8/1899 his father on the birth cert copy i have is Alexander Pringle and his mother was Mary Pringle (nee Burrell) they married in Glasgow 21/8/1891.The Parish/District was Dennistoun,Glasgow.
My maternal grandmother was Grace Esther Annie Pringle (nee Boyd) and I do have a family tree(very bad copy and hard to read) that goes back to William Boyd (baptised 5/8/1711) and Jannett Anderson (born 1733). They had 8 children and my line comes from their 4 child Mungo (baptised 22/6/1767) and Mary(jane) Dickson. All came from the Ruthwell area.
My son and I will be in Scotland August 2010 and would like to visit the areas our family came from and find a grave or 2 maybe.
Any info on either family would be fantastic.

Hi Barrett
Welcome to RootsChat :)
Have you got census info for the Pringles? This looks like the family's 1901 census entry:
Alexander Pringle 34, Railway Signalman, b. Lauder Berwickshire
Mary Pringle 33, b. Wishaw, Lanarkshire
Robert Pringle 8, b. Mossend, Lanarkshire
Alexander Pringle 5, b. Glasgow
Mary Pringle 3, b. Glasgow
Mark Pringle 1, b. Glasgow
John Binnie 43, boarder b. Wishaw
Address: Balornock Rd, Dennistoun, Glasgow Springburn
From the marriage details on Mark's birth cert, you will find parents' marriage on line at Scotlands People. With their parents' names from this cert, you can trace them back to their families :)

:-*Thank you so much for your help with begining of my search. I have checked out Scotlands People which I did not know about and the archives which I had had a bit of a look around. I am going to contact my cousins and see if they have any thing relevant. My uncle Alexander Pringle (Born 19/8/1924) know as Sandy was from what I remember a member of The Black Watch, any ideas on how I find his service record?
