Hi All
I am trying to find when Edward Dalby Day came to Australia, on his death certificate it states that he had been in NSW for 43 years, so he came to NSW about 1857, he was born in Hampshire possibly Selbourne, in 1826. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated as I am just about ready to give up on this guy.
If he came to Australia via a different state would it be listed on his death certificate? It doesn't say anything on his wedding certificate.
If he came to NSW from another country besides England like the USA where would I find those records?
Thanks and Cheers

Joanna,
I think Jenn might be on the right track.
How are you so sure that this is not your man? Information on death certificates is only as good as those givene the information are privvy to. Edwin/Edmund/Edward are frequently transcibed for each other esp when you look at the old handwriting.
I have an Edward*** on his father's death certificate who on all UK census and FreeBMD is Edmund!!
