Hi Helen-darleen

There are 2 births showing on Scotland's People for Fred* Waldie 1880-1890. They are both in 1884 which would roughly correspond with his age at death.

One is in Lochee, Angus; the other Tradeston, Glasgow.

The birth certificates would give the parents names, and where and when they were married.

In trying to pin down when he arrived in Australia I did a search and found this:
http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/1598798?searchTerm=waldie

I don't know how to tell if it is your Frederick Waldie or not!

Hope this helps

Kirsty

Hello fellow Waldie researchers!

I too am trying to fnd Waldie information.

My gggg grandmother, Isabella Waldie b. 1828 Dalkeith, Edinburgh married Oliver Isa Lees b. 1831 Dalkeith, Edinburgh, only children I know of are son, Oliver Lees b. 1848 Dalkeith, Edinburgh and daughter Elizabeth b. 1851 Dalkeith, Edinburgh

Does anyone know when and where Isabella and Oliver were married?  I am guessing Dalkeith after 1841 but before 1851 where I found them on the 1851 Census living at Anderson's Close No. 14, Cowgate, Edinburgh.

Did Isabella Waldie and Oliver Lees have any more children?  I can't find them after 1851, however, I think Oliver died before 1859  because I think I found Isabella married to a John Hunter on 13 December 1859 at Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh and she then has a daughter Elysia Hunter, age 2 in 1861 born Church, Twn, Edinburgh.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
