Have moved your post from Donegal board as it seems to have gotten lost there- possibly because Donegal might not even be the correct county.
Can you give us any more details so that we can try to help you.
Is approx. birth year taken from a death certificate, gravestone, census record, etc.?
Have you found him in any census records anywhere?
Did he stay in Ireland?
Civil registration of births is online (free) but without an exact place/county you probably won't be able to find Charles' birth.

1911 Census for all Ireland is also online free but since I don't know if Charles would have been in Ireland then I'll give you the link to check yourself if he was-

I split your post from the original topic since zander isn't at all sure if it's Donegal, Donemana or perhaps something else beginning with a D, then moved it to Ireland-General board.
Your post is still under Donegal with the title charles donaghy:

There is a Dunamana in Co. Tyrone
Ireland history in maps. Dohaghy Macdonogh
if you go through www.google.com when the box comes up type in Ireland's History in Maps
The Ulster name Donaghy is common in Tyrone and Derry
