Baptisms, Headcorn
The children of Robert & Sarah JOY
1805 18th Aug Robert
1808 13th Mar John
1808 13th Mar Jesse
1810 8th Jul Alfred
1812 8th Mar Sarah Ann
1814 8th May Edwin
1816 25th Dec Winnifred
1819 25th Apr Elizabeth
1823 29th Jun Thomas
From Edwin onwards, a note says: Headcorn (Farmer)
No note to say if John & Jesse were twins.
As one of the daughters was called Winifred, I wonder if this is Robert snr's baptism:
1785 6th Mar Robert JOY son of Robert & Winifred.
Nine children altogether for Robert & Winifred.
It would make Robert rather young at marriage, only 20 (assuming baptised as an infant) but there might have been a reason, given baby Robert's baptism date ;D
Marriage Headcorn:
1805 12th Jun By Banns
Robert JOY Headcorn
Sarah SULLY (W) Headcorn
Witnesses: Wm Wood, John Joy.
Marriage of Robert snr, in Headcorn
1782 7th Oct By Banns
Robert JOY Ba Headcorn
Winifred WOOD Sp Headcorn
Witnesses: Dvd Mannering, William Bills.
Only two other JOY marriages in Headcorn 1560-1836
John in 1779, & Thomas in 1756.

Only one male JOY Marriage in Headcorn 1837-1904
1850 9th October By Banns
Edwin JOY full age Farmer (Ba) son of Robert (Farmer)
Robert DEAN full age (Sp) dau of James (Farmer)

Odd name for the Bride! I wonder if there's been a mistake somewhere along the line. Roberta perhaps?
But it doesn't match in with Edwin & Susanna on the censuses.
