Hi
many thanks for your reply, did your Edwards live in Manafon? I have my Edwards living in the Gravels Bank areas. I would be interested if our Edwardses were related.

My Edwards (William Edward Edwards) was born in Manafon because his mother went home from Guilsfield to give birthbut the family themselves lived in Guilsfield. William Edwards mother was Mary Edwards (Nee Bullock).

Hello, Forden covered quite a large area and the boundary changed at some time, part was Worthen and part Habberley(for census purposes). There is a Gravels up above Hope on the road to Stiperstones and there was upper and lower Gravels and Gravels Bank too. It`s where the Roman lead mines were and there is also an area called Roman Gravels. This area is close to the Lead mining areas of Snailbeach,
,Pennerley and The Bog, There is a centre at the converted Bog School which is used by walkers and visitors generally as well as those interested in family history. Delicious refreshments and loads of info---- well worth a visit if possible.Leave the A488 Shrewsbury/Bishops castle Road at the sign for Shelve and you`ll pass the Gravels etc . The road to The Bog is also signposted after the ruins of Ladywell mine Cornish engine house on the steep bend of the road.Hope you get the info you need, best of luck. Viktoria.
