Title: look up josiah bradley
Post by: tomsher on Sunday 20 September 09 17:14 BST (UK)
i am looking for my g uncle josiah bradley who was born in great marlow and must have moved to salford quite soon after his birth although the census in 1911 states he was born in salford. I cant find anything else about him since the 1911 census, i found a marriage in ashton and ordered the certificate but the father was jonathon bradley and not john bradley  ???

I think he was possible known by his middle name - this is the likeliest birth registration I can see:

Births Sep 1898
BRADLEY   Charles Josiah
Wycombe 3a 795

(Wycombe registration district covers Great Marlow.)

The 1901 has him born Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire,  but living at Regent road Salford.
RG13; Piece: 3735; Folio: 62; Page: 38.

The 1911 i think just states where he is living at the time, which was Salford.
As i tell so many people that the 1911 is so badly transcribed and not done in this country, so we struggle to get the correct infomation unless we buy the full original census. Free of cause at greater manchester county records office and Central library.
