Am searching for information on my great-great-great grandmother Mary JACQUES, wife of William Jacques. Shows herself as born in Germany on 1851 Census and then as born in France on 1861 Census. She died in Hinckley in 1865. Have so far failed to identify her maiden name (she was not married in Leicestershire either, apparently) or where she came from in Germany or France. Can anyone help, please? Thanks very much.

I searched William Jacques marriages ... and found a marriage in Hinckley in 1894 for a William Jacques to a Mary Ann Orton
she would be 43 so it possibly isnt her... but there a quite a few Leicester marriages.....
Silly me.. got the dates mixed up I now see she died in 1865.... so needs a rethink...
Do you know when she was born??? that would help or when William was born... I see you say not married in Leicestershire....

I searched ancestry -- are u a member there is a lot of info on there unless it is your own info it may be of help.

Dear Xin, thanks for your efforts on my behalf. Mary was born (in Germany or France) in 1785 and died in Hinckley in 1865. We do not know when or where she got married (definitely not in Leicestershire, we checked) but her husband William had already died before 1841. By the way, the name is sometimes also spelled JAQUES. Best regards ! PS I am not a member of Ancestry, unfortunately.

There is a researcher on ancestry searching for a Mary Jacques... with the same details as you ... she doesnt seem to have any more information but maybe you can contact her... she is researching the Clarke Family from Hinckley... which is also an area of my research... I will go back on and find her details and pm them to you.
