Hi Carole,
Thank you so much for your help in finding him,

Nothing after 1851 - there is a William Rue b 1840 Bristol who was a soldier stationed in Kent in 1871 but nothing obvious for William after 1851

Hi Jaz, I have been researching the Rue surname of Somerset for some time now and have a fair bit of info on them.
This particular William Rue has not yet been linked in to my own tree...but as his family are so close to mine and the name is so unusual I have not yet given up.
I do not know what happened to this William, do you have links to him?
I am interested in sharing data with anyone with links to any Rue's.
Please let me know what your link is to William.
Best wishes

Hi Jaz,
So sorry for the long delay in responding, I only just found your post! Not very good with the internet and only just found the link to "replies to your posts" whilst looking for something else.
Have you done much research on the Rue family. I have quite a bit of information on George and Ann Rue as I believed (still do actually) that they may help me to find the answer to my brick wall.
The very top of my tree has John Rue married in Long Sutton in 1794 (of this parish) but I don't know where he came from having found neither his birth or death or any relatives or other Rue's in the area who are not directly descent from him.
If you wish to compare notes then please do let me know.
Best wishes
Janita
