Hi Tormod
Welcome to RootsChat :)
There is a small tree on Ancestry for Donald, son of Alexander and Kitty. Not a lot of info on it but it does show Alexander, father, as having died in 1895 in Portree. His parents show as William Kemp and Isabella Lily MacKenzie (1785-1858). Given these dates, you should be able to verify this information by checking Alexander's death entry on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Alexander Kemp & Catharine Gollan married 1841 Urray, Ross.
Alexander was a Tailor, four of their children were born Sleat, Inverness.

Donald Kemp b1852 was my GGrandfather. Still a Kemp family in Portree, Donnie, grandson of Donald

I have a Donald Kemp connection, via Margaret Cameron and her son Hector.
1843 - Donald Kemp a tenant in Knockghourman and Margaret Cameron residing in the parish of Redcastle had a child born to them in fornication, named Hector, on 15th March 1843.
The same Donald: 1843 - Donald Kemp tenant of Knockghourman and Hellen McKay, his spouse, had a child born to them, named Ann, on 13th October, 1843.
Would there be a connection?

Yes, Carol. I think we are chasing our tails.
A very Happy New Year to you both from icy Scotland. Minus 11 degrees in Elgin tonight. Off to Cape Town next month and it can't come soon enough.

Are you the same Norman that I know?
