Post by: Greensleeves on Thursday 17 September 09 21:10 BST (UK)
This is the occupation in 1871 of Robert Baxter of Ipswich, Suffolk.  Has anyone any idea what the first word says, please?

Ah, it was the quotation marks which confused me..... amazing how obvious it appears when others point it out.  Many thanks to you all for your help, which is much appreciated.
