Hi again,
Just found a similar family in Glasgow during the 1901. Was your John Glen Snr a Chimney sweep?
-
I think you need to give a little more info. It might help in the search. When were John and Annie born? Just found your family in the 1891 John Glen snr was not present. Annie and the kids were with her Stewart parents. Where was your John Glen snr at that time? What did he do by way of occupation? Did his work take him away from home often?

If it is of interest to you, I have found a ready made tree for Ann Stewart according to the author she was b 1860 Thornhill Kincardine by Doune Perthshire. She was d/o Robert Stewart b1822c. He died 10 Jul 1898 at Deanstone Factory Kilmadock. In the 1881 his occupation was a hedger. He married Jane Ferguson b1831c thornhill Kilmadock. D 19 Dec 1891 in kilmadock. Hope this might be of some use to you.

Thank you for that Forshaw.
John Glen was a tailor by trade and in the 1891 census was with his aunt and uncle in Leith.
Would be interested in the ready made family tree, although there appear to be a couple if disrepances compared with mine.
Cheers..patvp

You certainly have to be very careful with ready made trees and check everything out for yourself. They can help give clues though and perhaps give you bones of a tree to follow up. I will try to refind the tree for you again, later this evening.
