Title: Canberra National Library - LOOKUP
Post by: pcjey on Sunday 13 September 09 06:19 BST (UK)
Is there any one who can go to the National Library in Canberra for me and copy one page, of a file?

this is the reference:

MS 479
Papers of Lord Tennyson
Appendix 12

Index to Series 38 : Letters relating to the Queen Victoria Maternity Hospital Rose Park, South Australia.

(a) Letters received by Audrey Georgiana Florence, Lady Tennyson

WAY LEE, Y. S. W. – 4 July 1901 : Adelaide : forwards money collected among Chinese in South Australia for the Queen Victoria Maternity Hospital : 479/38, p. 21

Thank you very much  TRISH

Our wonderful chatter who usually visits NLA is on an overseas holiday.  Why don't you use their copying service?  I have always found the staff to be extremely helpful.

Cheers

Thanks Cando,
I may have to contact them to do the copy it is $13.50 for only one page . They told me I can have up to 1-50 pages in the one file for $13.50.  Seams a lot for one page, cheap for 50 pages.  However it is cheaper than going to Canberra.
Thanks Regards TRISH

Hello,

I am in New Zealand, and they copied several pages out of a book and posted to me. No charge.  This was about 5 years ago.

Hi Jean :) - times have changed ;D

Trish I does seem expensive for one page, however it still takes the same time to retrieve a file no matter how many pages are to be copied.  Good  luck.

Cheers :)

You were lucky Jean, I too remember not too long ago when the National Archives, would scan an image and put it online for FREE now there is also a charge with them.  So I expect it is all the same with Libraries and Archives these days.
Take care TRISH
