Title: Shand, Ellis, Caird, Langlands
Post by: mizme on Sunday 13 September 09 03:35 BST (UK)
I am looking for anyone with connections to these families.  Alexander Ellis and Ann Langlands I know they were married 1798 in Oathlaw Angus, all their children were born in Craig by Montose in 1806 Alexander was a tenent in Westertown.

William Shand and Jean Caird were married in St.Vigeans and all their children were born in Arbroath. William was a weaver.

William and Jeans son James married Alexander and Anns daughter Margaret in 1828 in Arbroath in 1837 James was a grounds officer on the Estate of Dunnichen and after that was a baker and a linen weaver.
Any connections?

I have an Isabella Bertie (born 1813) married to a David Langlands in Arbroath.  That is the only connection.  Would like to know more about him, if he belongs to you?

Hi

I have no information on a David Langlands. He may be related but I have not been able to determine Anns parents.

Hi,
I have Cairds on my tree.  I have jessie Caird, 1820 married to James Reid.  Following the line back to John Caird, 1720 married Elspet Burness.   Is this any Help?

Regards,
Lynda

My G3 Grandmother was Elizabeth Langlands.  She married James Fraser in Oathlaw on July 2, 1789.  That's all I know about her (or, for that matter, about James).  Not sure if there's a connection here to what you're looking for.  Cheers, Peter
