I am trying to trace Berger Larsson from Halland, Sweden who came to London in around 1890. He married a Margaretha Shulz (from Germany) whilst here. Am finding it difficult to trace his family back in Sweden.
Any ideas? I hear that the Swedish record system is very good - but how do I access it!

Hi
Don't know whther this is worth trying, Have you a copy of his marriage certificate? It is registered in Pancras district March 1894 Vol 1b Pg 22. You can get at Swedish parish records on the IGI www.familysearch.org and there is an entry for Berger Larsson born 11/3/1873, died 1960 and parents Bengt Larsson and Johanna Larsdotter - although it doesn't say where in Sweden and presumably there are more than 1 Berger!!! It should have his age and his father's name on his marriage certificate

Thanks Linnet,
Am following it up - I will keep you informed.

I haven't got a birth certificate - but I do have Berger's entry permit to the country. It shows his year of birth as 1867 and I now know that he died in 1928 in London. So unfortunately your lead has come to nothing. That is a real pity because someone else has given me a whole load of info on the Larsdotters!
Thanks for the try
Kind regards
Chris

I am Berger Larssons great grandson and my father is his grandson. I have copies of his marriage certificate and death certificate.
Maybe we have some common ground?

Berger Larsson was my great grandfather. His daughter was Lily and she married Sidney Jones. Marguerite Schulz was, I believe from Berlin and her brother ran a coffee shop there.
I would be fascinated to see the certificates. My email address is (*)
Kind regards
Chris
