Doch, you could try contacting the Sligo Council.  They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi

Sligo Research Library in Bridge Street in Sligo has the burial records of all cemeteries in  Co.Sligo.
Kilmacowen  cemetery is 3 miles from Sligo town .
The name of the present caretaker of the cemetery will be available from Sligo County Council.
I also have  a list of  the graves in Kilmacowen Cemetery

Hi

If you have access to the Research Library in Bridge Street Sligo then you could
Look up the information in the cemetery books they hold. Sligo County Council (Environment) has the name and  contact details  of the present caretaker who will have a Cemetery register

I have a copy of the inscriptions and  plot lay out of Kilmacowen Cemetery. If I had the name I may be able to  help you

Hi Rosaleen,
The plot is now in the name of John Kelly and his wife Mary Ann and a son Charles Kevin, i am trying to locate who was in the grave before them.

Michael Harte the caretaker only has records back to 1940

I think it may have been a Hargadon family plot, and i am not sure what happened years ago with regard to the various plots say a family died out who would take over a given plot ?

Hi Patrick

Michael Harte's records may have the name of the person who  requested the opening of the grave in 1941.
Also a search of obituaries  for Mary Anne Kelly and her father Patrick Hargadon in the Sligo Champion (on microfilm in the Sligo  Library may yield results)
There are 3 Hargadon graves close to the Kelly grave in Kilmacowen
Good luck in your seach

I recently visited Kilmacowen cemetery hoping to find the grave of my great grandfather but I could not find it. I know he was buried here as I have found his obituary. Could I possibly send you his name to see if his grave is on the plot layout you have?

Thanks
