				Hi
I am really new to all of this. You guys have so much experience I am just scratching the surface. I have made a start and one side of th family is coming along. Brick wall on the other. Have tried BMD but no luck. All I have is a name and dates. James Henry Cole 1887- 1941 died in Monmouthshire. If you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it
Thank you

				Hi there,
James Henry Cole birth registered June 1/4 1887 Newport, death registered September 1/4 1941, marriage I haven't found as yet, have you an idea of the maiden name if any for a wife.
Cheers Roger.

				Hi
Thank you for the rapid reply.  He married Blodwyn and I think Rees was her maiden name circa 1912 in Pontadulais?  They had three children, William, Herbert and Doreen. Blodwyn died aged 72 in 1960.  I was told that James came from Somerset. There was a connection as my Father (William) went to school in that area.
I have struggled to locate this info.  How did you find it?
Thnx again

The marriage is on FreeBMD - but after the early 1900s usually only first names are written in full - so James shows up as James H Cole, marrying Blodwen Rees
in Pontdarwe district, September quarter 1912.

				Hi
That makes sense. I will try the free BMD and see if I can locate his birth and parents. Is it worth going for a subscription andf if so what would you recommend?
Thnx
Sue

				 ;D
Hi Sue,
I don't use FreeBMD so I should imagine that its free, I have membership on Ancestry and thats where I got the info from.
Somerset is only just across the water from Newport so yes its possible for the movement of people.
Please do have a go at freeBMD as the link provided by the last poster.
Cheers Roger.

				Hi Sue,
If you want to purchase a copy of their marriage certificate its at the Neath & Port Talbot registry office.
Cheers Roger.
