Title: Burkes and Walsh from Dublin
Post by: debbi on Monday 07 September 09 12:21 BST (UK)
I am trying to find more information regarding the parents of Mary Burke. Her parents were called Michael born abt 1871 who married Sarah Walsh.born abt 1871.  I have the wedding certificate and the names of their fathers are both Patrick, but thats as much as I know. Does anyone know how I can trace back further?
Regards

you can search an Irish Civil Index on familysearch at : http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=2;t=searchable;c=1408347  - but given fairly common surnames it might be difficult to track down the right people.  Do you know the occupations of the two Patricks ?

If you find good matches you can order certs from the GRO - see : www.groireland.ie

You could also try the Census on the National Archives website at : http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/  The 1911 data is already available, and the 1901 is due early next year. Their website is a little bit slow at the moment so you may have check back later.
