Hi ....
www.familysearch.org
has John Blower
Sarah Davy 22 June 1831 All Souls Saint Marylebone London
It is an extracted record .
Original would not list parents at this date but would mention witnesses.

Hi Trevor
The International Genealogical Index (IGI) compiled by the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) mainly consists of 2 types of records.
Extractions are transcriptions taken from actual parish registers and should be fairly accurate with regards to the date. However, incorrect spellings and ommissions mean that you may be convinced someone should be in the records for a particular church there but they're not. They usually have batch numbers starting with C, M or P and the statement 'extracted from the registers' on the record page. You don't find burials listed very often in extracted records.
Submissions are made by patrons of the church and should be treated with caution. They can be completely inaccurate (someone's best guess at worst) of they could be correct, for example where someone has taken the trouble to check out the register and found a missing entry or put in an entry from register that hasn't been transcribed. Batch numbers for these entries are in a completely different format. They usually have the wording 'patron submission' somewhere on the record page.
The Hugh Wallis site is an excellent resource for finding out what registers in which areas have been transcribed

Hope this helps.

Againg thnaks very much I have to say in the week I have been using these boards the response has been amazing.
But I'm still a little confused if the record is indeed an extracted record as in taken from the registers why would it not list the mother and father all the ones I have found so far do appear to do this?
Many Thanks again

Hi ....
Pre 1837 and the start of civil registration very little is found in marriage documents. Grooms name -home parish- brides name- home parish by banns or licence. Witness names and the vicar.
From 1837 the addition of fathers name and occupations appears. I have never seen a mothers name on a british marriage cert.

Hi,
Ahh ok I have just been really lucky then I have been using Free reg http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl
To search for many of my relatives in Norfolk and many of the entries appear to have lots of info like parents names mothers maiden name etc. I just assumed it would be the same everywhere. oh well its a lark this family hunting isn't it !!
Thanks again everyone here seems so helpful
