My uncle David Wade born in 1902 left Dublin for the USA, not sure exactly when but probably in the 20s or early thirties. I know that he sailed to New York, lived in Brooklyn, married and italian girl and had two sons in the US navy. I think he went to,live initially with his uncle, surname Murphy.
I'm not really sure where to start. I thought passenger lists might be a good ideas but would he have sailed from Dublin, or from Cobh...my mum thinks that latter as she ha an idea that's where most emigrants sailed to the US. Any suggestions and should I put this on Dublin or NY Board..or noth
