The photographers studio is W. Woodbury, Manchester, if that is any help. We know the name of this young woman - it's written on the back of the photo but because there were several of the same name in the family we are not sure which of them she is - a rough date would be really helpful. Her name was Anne Hince but became Mrs Davies if anyone is able to look her up and probably lived in Manchester but may have originated from Shropshire. Thanks.(http://)

Lets bump this one up the list.
I'll have a stab in the dark. My guess is she is in her late 30's.
I'm sure the experts will be helping you.

What you have here is mid - late 1860's.I don't think she's in her late 30's more like early to mid 20's.So someone born 1840 - 5. I would suggest.
Can you scan the back as this helps with dating for others.

I agree aged in her 20's.

I would guess by the hair style and clothes that it is the second half of the 1860s. Apparently before that stage ears were covered. And after that the skirts are less full.

I agree that she may be in her early to mid twenties.Really dont think that she has reached her 30s yet.

Many thanks everybody - that's so helpful. I think we know who she is now if we conclude she was probably born around 1840 -45.

A completely plain back usually means a copy of the original,in this case taken at the same time.
You'll notice she appears to be holding a letter,we've seen a few of these & I've always believed
they were a "thinking of you" type of picture sent to the sender.
