I would appreciate some census look-ups on these two DAINTY brothers please
They are children of William Dainty b1800 and his wife Elizabeth m 1823
Charles Dainty b 1830 Geddington, home 1841 in Easton
Where is he in 1851?
He married Eliza in 1856
Where is he in 1861 and 1871?
Both parties have died by 1881 but I don't know if they had any children
William Dainty also b 1830 but later same year in Easton, is still at home in 1851
I861 where is he???
He married a Mary in 1864
Where is he in 1871?
Mary b 1832 in Easton?, poss she died in 1872 age 40?
He is remarried in 1881 to Fanny L and living in Easton
He is a farmer
There is one b Pytchley who also married a Fanny and one b Titchmarsh unmarried and also a William Edward who married an Annie Green but all these I have ruled out - they are not mine
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

If correct Charles above.
1871 Rg10/1513 Dist: 3 Pg 8, Folio 65 Kings Cliffe
Charles is now 40 and has a wife named Susannah 34.
Susannah more than likely had the maiden name Braines as
she has a sister Letitia 28 living with them both from Rockingham.

No other readable graves for Dainty in the Churchyard.
I will see if I have any in the Cemetery.
Over to you Gortonboy/Suz. :)

Hi Sandy Gortonboy and suzard
Thank you all so much for all this very very helpful information even to the graves
I go away from my computer and then bingo all these wonderful replies
I had found Eliza's death reg but had not spotted the marriage a year later as it wasn't local
I think you are right that the Susannah is a Baines if she's from Rockingham
Charles' brother John Dainty married a Louisa Baines from Rockingham - I haven't pieced him completely yet - he had 2 kids in Horne, Rutland and was in Collyweston in 1881
At least it all proves that what I had managed to piece together was right so far
It was a big family - there were 13 children and only one died as a child
Charles first wife was Eliza Benner b Easton and his brother David married her sister Elizabeth and went to Leicester
My link to this family is dau Ellen or Helen who married and moved to Leics but unfortunately died just after her first child was born
I am slowly piecing them all together but this is a very big help
Many thanks

Hi SC.
I think you are doing brill with such a large family. :)
I guess as the family are at the top of the County,
some might stray into Lincs.
It seems strange neither brother had children, although I suppose
they could have had still births :(.

Hi Sandy
Well yes it was a big family but thankfully there were very few misspellings of the name which has helped to track them down
There are certainly Lincolnshire connections, Eliza and Elizabeth's parents were married in Stamford, Lincoln
Some of the siblings had children
John had at least 2
I have just found death entries for John and his wife Louisa in 1888 and 1885 respectively in Oundle Dist which covers Collyweston
So several of the family died young but the parents William and Elizabeth lived to 84 and 81
David had at least 2 and Francis at least one child
So there were quite a few grandchildren
I appreciate all your input

Wotcha chaps, somewhat of a resurection on this I'm afraid but perchance does anyone know the name of William's (senior, the one born 1800) parents? The father in particular
-
Hi Linnet
Unfortunately William senior b 1800 is as far back as I have been able to go to date
on all censuses he says born Geddington but I have not found a suitable baptism record to ascertain his parents
SC
-
Have you ruled out the William Dainty baptised in 1799?
-
Hi mgeneas
just wondering where you are finding a baptism in 1799?
I just checked on family search and the old IGI and didn't find anything that I could see
SC
-
It is in the Northamptonshire Baptism Index cd (from familyhistorynorthants)
William DAINTY son of William & Ann 1799 26-Nov at Geddington C of E born Nov ?
-
Hi mgeneas
Thank you very much for the information - that is entirely possible

Looks like we can take the family of William sr bc1800 back another couple of generations
FreeREG has Geddington parish records done for quite a ways back and I have found a different chr date for William 1799 so maybe the other is a birthdate
also found a marriage for his parents and a few siblings for him and found marriages and burials further back that jive
this is great
