I'm looking for any info on William Barr b. abt 1825 also his wife Rebecca Goldsmith b. abt 1825
they were living in the Holborn around 1851 according their children's christening records
William - 16th April 1851
Henry Joseph - 27th April 1851
Thomas - 3rd Aug 1854
I'm unable to find this family on any census - on their son Henry Joseph's marriage cert he gives his fathers occupation as
ship owner.
Any info about this family would be much appreciated :)

Hi Carole thanks for the info.
Henry Joseph Barr was my husbands great grandfather, Ive found him on 1871/81/91 census but had no luck so far finding his parents William and Rebecca.
From the info you gave me there must have been 2 couples living in London with the same name
I think these were the children of the

When Henry Joseph was baptised the address was 6 Blewitts Buildings (Holborn). It was also Blewetts buildings when William was baptised though no number.
They are at Blewetts buildings in 1851 census
Wm Barr 27 bn occ Cook
Rebecca 27
William 2
Joseph 1mth
also Joseph Goldsmith 39
HO107/1527 f39 page 24
FindMyPast has them transcribed as Barns but Joseph Goldsmith is transcribed as Joseph Goldsmith
Young William and his brother Joseph pob is City of London. Rebecca and Joseph Goldsmith are bn Sussex and William snr bn Surrey (Southwark?). I will leave you to try and work out what towns they were born in.
That census reference won't help you to find them on Ancestry as it takes you to a page for Yorkshire with a totally different reference. This link should do it, the entry at the top of the page

Wm Brown
Rebecca Brown
Wm Brown

The folio and page numbers are the wrong way round ::)
