Title: Uniform identification
Post by: King Soloman on Saturday 29 August 09 20:24 BST (UK)
This is a photograph of my great grandfather Arthur Henry Moore DOB 22/3/1896.
Can anyone identify his uniform for me please? I have been told that he was an infantry man. He lived in sussex (Newhaven). He was received an injury to his back in the war.

Hi KS
There is a medal card for Arthur Henry Moore No. WR307600 of the Inland Water Transport, Royal Engineers .
Enlisted 26-5-1915 Discharged 9-8-1918 No Medals but issued with Silver War Badge List RE2204.
As you say he had a back injury this could be him ,only Supposition!
I have not found a Service Record or Pension Record for him.
                                                      Regards Rog.

Fantastic. Thanks for getting back to me so quick. That sounds like a very possible match.
