Hi Colin
What are you trying to find out? Is it the censuses as you have later information?
You can search 1911 for free and just pay to see iomages.
1901 costs less on pay per view, just go to findmycast, com, but you can see census on Ancestry for free if you're a member of a library in the uk.
If it's his birth youwant, you can try free bmd, but you may noy be able to narrow it down to one.
I'll have a go.
Best wishes

Hi
There are two Edward Halls in households with a Joseph Hall on findmypast.com, 1901, born Liverpool, both in West Derby. It costsa 3 credits to view, but have you more details?
Best wishes

hi emma,
i have his marriage certificate and nothing else,iv'e tried 1911 and ancestry and can't find a thing.only thing that his son says is that he thinks he was born in macclesfield and really knows nothing about him accept he married the barmaid and then ran a pub in childwall valley road,
about time he found out as he is in his eighties,
