Hi,
I am having trouble finding a record of my great grandparents marriage, Alfred Weston Russell and Ethel Elizabeth Sait. Its kind of complicated as I know Alfred changed his name from Russell to Weston sometime after 1922, as they are both registered under Russell on my Grandads birth certificate. Also Ethel wasmarried before to a Herbert Taylor in 1915. Have searched all name combinations both in England and Scotland but with no luck.
My Grandad was born in Dover but they moved to Scotland soon after.
Ethel was english and Alfred was scottish so could have been either.
Any ideas??

Yeah thats only names I got too ???
Surely it couldn't be that wrong!
Thats the Herbert Taylor I got, found a record of their divorce in 1921. So close to my grandads birth there was a speculation way back that maybe Herbert was his father but no it was Alfred all along. Think they had an affair and that was the grounds of divorce.
Maybe they never got married and she just took his name?!

If you have found the divorce it might be an idea to send for a copy - could give you some information that will be useful.
Is the Alfred G Taylor b. 1915 mmn Sait her child with the first husband? Bit strange to name child with second husband Alfred as well?
