Hi everyone,
Has anyone any idea where I can find old photos of West brom and Bilston on line?
I'm looking for pics of Bilston -Chapel street (around 1900 onwards)
Bull street west brom,
Wood Lane West brom, esp. Oliver Cromwell pub.
and of the Jubilee pit sinkings (which I understand are now a golf course in Sandwell Park).
Many Thanks,
as usual, any info on these welcome!

Try a goggle search or better still if you have AOL, you can do a picture search, this is worth a try i did one and came up with some pictures.

Thanks but I tried that and haven't come up with anything useful. The newspaper sites don't seem to have anything either.
I was hoping someone might know of a local site.

Meg take a look on ebay. Do a search for all of the places you are looking for.
There is an excellent range of old photo books called `Images of England' by the Archive Photograph series Tempus Pubs Ltd The Mill Stroud Glouc.
I have bought 4 of these books new off ebay for less than 1/3rd cost recently
You should also try contacting the local libray who are sure to have images you want and perhaps the local historical society
best of luck
this could be useful

Thanks earley,
I'll look on ebay.
I've already been on the Library archive services but they take for ever to reply!

There is a very good site about old Handsworth with many photos of West Brom and Walsall.
Just type Handsworth into google- until 1900 Handsworth was in Staffordshire.

Thanks everyone,
Have ordered some books. I needed stuff to send to someone by email.
The old Handsworth site is very good I came across that the other day.
Thanks again Meg
