Title: St. Anne's Limehouse
Post by: turtle on Tuesday 25 August 09 12:16 BST (UK)
Hello

I am looking for marriage records for St. Anne's Limehouse for 1807 , these don't appear to be in the LDS records, does anyone know where I might be able to access these records if they exist ?

The marriage I am looking for is for Richard Woolhouse and Avis Rice.

Any help appreciated     :)

Dean

Hi

This site lists records for dockland's ancestors, most are on CDs, but you can search to see if the records are there.

 http://www.parishregister.com/

I had a look for your two names but nothing is coming up.

Hi Dean

Most of the records on parishregister.com are baptisms.

The parish registers for St Annes Limehouse have been deposited at the London Metropolitan Archives. I see from your profile that a day trip might be out the question  ;D

Many thanks for that,  I was wondering if the parish registers for Limehouse had survived the war and if they had, where were they stored.

I would like to see what the original register shows for this marriage as I have a date and a place but thats all.

Cheers
Dean

Hello Valda,  thank you very much for taking the time and sending those details ,  have they spelt his surname as 'Woodhouse' ??  (  it is Woolhouse )

Many thanks

Hi Dean

There is a splodge on the marriage register,  where the clerk has written Woo*house, myabe he tried to correct the entry.

However, Richard clearly signs Woolhouse.

Hope this helps.
