Hi Belfastchief,
Was he a child when he came to Canada? If so I think I have him on the passenger list.
Thanks,

Hi again,
I'm not sure this is them. The mother is named Elizabeth & is age 32 in 1932, she was born in Belfast, she had been in Canada before yrs 1921-1932. She has 2 children with her, Mildred age 5 (?), & Edward age 6, but it looks like to me they say the children are born in Bellevue Canada.
What made me think it was your family is that right below Edward is a lady named Martha Sloan, age 66 or 86, a widow, born Ballym??? Co. Antrim
Would some kind person please take a look at the passenger list I have posted & see if you're reading the same as I am: Duchess of Atholl arriving in Quebec, Sept 16 1932
Thanks,
Lisa

hi lisaw, i am not sure but i think Eddie jnr. emigrated young but may have returned to belfast and married and then returned to canada, I believe both his wife and mother were both named mary.

Hi,
I'll keep looking for them on passenger lists. I wonder if the people I found are related somehow, kind of a big coincidence that there is a Sloan traveling at the same time as the Pollocks'. Then yours marries a Sloan later on.

Hi Belfastchief and Lisa
Have found same people on embarkation list from Belfast travelling to Canada on the Duchess of Atholl.
Unfortunately it does nt give places of birth but their (pollack family) last address in Belfast was 21, Cumberland Street inluding a Miss Sadie Kirkwood 22 waitress at same address.
Mrs Martha Sloans address was 79 Cregagn? Road, Belfast with two other travellers from that address, Mrs Eliza Holt and Miss Phyllis Holt.
Perhaps the addresses might ring a bell?
Best wishes
Cathy :)

Hi my name is mary pollock, daughter of edward pollock, granddaughter of elizabeth kirkwood pollock born in belfast in 1900, who had a number of sisters one of which is named sadie kirkwood. She immigrated to canada and married my grandfather adam cane pollock from kilmarnock, scotland. Not sure this is helpful but this is the only information i have. My gradmother passed away in 1985. Her sister sadie passed away i think in 2006 she is survived by three children verna, beverly and a son.

Somehow the kirkwood name is in the family but my grandmothers last name was Stewart. They lived in Belfast last known address in Hollywood. Father of my grandmother was a plumber
