Title: Marriage look up please
Post by: Paul Peter on Monday 24 August 09 16:05 BST (UK)
Hi

I was wondering if anyone could look up the details of the following marriage for me. The spelling of the woman's surname is a family mystery I would like cleared up

Patrick Whelan and Anastatia Horsom or Hursum. It would have been early 1850s in Dungarvan Waterford

Thanks Paul

you may have already seen this on Griffiths but I thought I'd mention it as it could be a link to the surname you are looking for :

 Name : Matthew Harson
 Placename : Woodstock
 Civil parish :   Kilmolash

 (entry is dated 1851)

Woodstock is about 14km west of Dungarvan.

Important to note though that spelling was often variable.  I've got people called Lacey who variously spelt it Leacy, Lacy and Lacey.  It would be spelt differently on each child's birth cert.
