thank you very much for that info , but i live a long way from sunderland , is there anyother way i could find info on them as in first names where born etc
-
I think you may struggle with that. You might get first names from the electoral roll. A quick check for the birth of Bernard Green b 1920 on wards in county Durham shows 2 entries
Dec Q 1921 mothers maiden name Horshaw South Shields
Dec Q 1923 mothers maiden name Garbutt Hartlepool

thank so much for the info i think benard was born around 1924 so maybe the one you found 1923 is the closest , he had a brother also that i know of
-
Did Bernard marry?
-
yes bernard did marry a girl called doris in about 1954ish 55ish or around that time
-
This may be a bit of a long shot but there is a marriage for a Bernard Green & Rachel Garbutt in Hartlepool in Mar Q 1916. The only way to know for sure is to get your Bernard's marriage certificate which should give his fathers name & occupation.

i would get bernards marrage cert but i cant find it he definatley married a girl called doris
-
A Bernard Green married a Doris S Smith in Sep Q 1953 in Newcastle T. GRO 1b 108.
Gary
Added: I have a strong fancy that his father will be Bernard as well. I searched for the marriage that I gave in my previous reply and both marriages were for a Bernard Green and both had children called Bernard, whats the odds on that happening so close together.
-
that is absoloutly brilliant i thank you so much for all this info i have tryed to find for a long time and never found anything , i will now try and find more on his family as i know doris couldnt have children so will look for sibblings parents etc once again a BIG thank you
-
Your welcome ;D

I can't find him in the phone book or trade directories as a greengrocer. There is an Ernest Dickinson selling posters & cards in south shields.
