Title: Looking for Carr, Flaherty, and Kenealy families

 In the Clifden area, John Carr married Catherine Kenealy and in 1846, Bartley Carr was born. In 1847, Anastisia Flaherty was born. Bartley and Ann were married and raised a family in the USA. How do I find info on these families in Ireland? Thank you, Ribcage

I think your best option would be the Parish register for the local Church in Clifden.  It is before 1864 when the civil registers were recorded, except for Church of Ireland which began in 1845 I think.

I would guess the surname Kenealy would have been spelt Coneely or something like that. There are many variations of the spelling of that name.

I am sure somebody on this forum will come up with more advice for you,

Hello again

There was a John James Carr born in Clifden 1886 according to the IFHF (Irish Family History Foundation) website.  Maybe a relative?  It is 5 euros to view a copy of the certificate.  It would have parents names, maybe townland too.
