Hi Marion,
When you say yours are from Somerset and Dorset do you know where exactly? I have got back via the 1841 census to my ggg grandfather Noah Mullins who was born in Thorncombe Devon in 1809 but would like to get back further. He seems to be an itinerant agricultural worker so its a litttle difficult to find out where his siblings came from. He did stay at Ilminster/Barrington once his children came along. My gg Grandad John moved to Ashill where he stayed for life. There are pockets of Mullins families and I don't know which one is mine?

Sorry I dont know too much about the Mullins - its my husbands side of the family and have not got far on that.
This is some of the areas I know of - hope it helps.

Message for Alpheus
Just noticed this one---rather old now ( 8 January 2007 ).
I have extensive knowledge of Noah Mullins, his family, siblings, descendants and ancestors. I am descended from his younger brother Henry and inherited some information and clues. During the last five years I have researched the family thoroughly and have details of Noah's parents, his paternal grandparents and great grandparents.
I would be happy to share any information with you and perhaps as a starter could give you a family tree from his parents down to all his sibling's children.
It would be too unwieldy for general posting----perhaps you could communicate via the personal channels.
If your Great Great Grandad was John ( whose last occupation was the Publican at the Ashill Inn ) we share common ancestors---Noah's parents William Mullins and Rebecca Lane who are your Great Great Great Great Grandparents and my Great Great Great Grandparents so we are a generation removed!
I have a massive index system which has the names of several hundred Mullins who are all related to us. The family originated in the 1740s in West Dorset moving gradually into East Devon and South East Somerset where they lingered for about 80 years before many dispersed to all points of the compass. The West Country is still inundated with Mullins but of course many are only tenuously connected with us.
Incidentally the Yorkshire Mullins are not connected with us.
Regards
Ian

Further note for Alpheus---to make use of the Personal Message system ie to send or receive messages, one has to make three postings and it seems you have only made one.
If you are still interested a couple more postings will make it easier for us to communicate. To whet your appetite Noah had 13 siblings and I have full details of all of them including descendants.
Cheers
Ian

Hi, I am trying to contact oldbiker (Ian) as Alpheus has given me a post from him in which he has stated that we need to make three posting to enable us to use the Personal Message system. This is my first posting

Hi All, this is just another post to enable the Personal Message system so I can contact oldbiker

I hope this will lead me to the Personal Message system. If you are following this Ian, I hope that I can complete the requirement and will then try to work out how to find you on the PM.
Regards
Mike (Alpheus's father!)

I guess all these post are very old but if any are still running NOAH MULLINS (c 1784)
was the brother of my 5th generation (Grandparents).
Happy to share info

Hi! I'm interested in all information related to NOAH Mullins, his brother Emanuel is the one that I'm related too! His son Arthur Dean Mullins had a daughter
Edith Pretoria mullins, that was my grandmother. Would love to get in touch with anyone who has info regarding the Mullins family and swap stories.

Why didn't I try to find info when this thread was active? ::)
-
Hi there,
as you will see i was late on this thread as well! However we might be able to help each other as I have been researching the Mullins family for many years.
Currently I am in the UK and do not have all my information with me, I will be in France until around mid-late November, then back home in Greece (where all my documents are!!!).
I do have some of the family tree on my laptop so any basic info I might me able to help if you give me specifics
Regards
Haydn

Hi again,
Think we have different people here.....NOAH's mother (Mary Farthing) was born 1755, she could not have had a child (Emanuel) c 1829
