Wondering if anyone can help me Ii am looking for a war memorial.

my father in law remembers when he was a young boy been taken to a war memorial in Dundee by his grandmother. to see the name of a uncle John Henry Rogers who died WW1.

John Henry Rogers was born in Jarrow co Durham 1897. when he died during the war,  his mother had his name put a war memorial in Dundee Scotland  Why nobody know  except that his grandmother did moved to Scotland.
of course as this all happen when my father in law was a young boy memories could have gone a bit astray he is now 76 :)

the problem i have is i cant find a death for John Henry Rogers i have looked at the CWG  and not find any thing  i don't have a number or a regiment for him.

in fact the only information i have is his birth  and where he lived on the
census

so this i s a bit  like looking for a needle in a haystack,  a very small needle in a very large haystack

any idea anyone please

Hi Cherryberry

I checked this site, but couldn't find any reference to John www.fdca.org.uk/WarMemorialsR.pdf

The main War Memorial in Dundee does not have any names on it www.royalhighlanders.co.uk/dundee.htm

Maybe a post on the Armed Forces board here on RC would also help www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,300.0.html
