Hello.
I am looking at a marriage certificate from Elgin, Scotland for John Cormack married in October 1910, after his name it says L.D.S. I do not know what his occupation was but his father was a dentist, could this refer to a dental qualification if he followed in his fathers footsteps ?

Licentiate in Dental Surgery. That certainly was the meaning at the start of the
19th 20th century. Whoops! my dictionary isn't that old!!
