Title: Settle-Carlisle Railway
Post by: R_Hood on Tuesday 18 August 09 16:58 BST (UK)
My Gt. Uncle, Edwin Westerman, was the superintendent of the Settle to Carlisle railway line during its construction and opening in the 1870's.  I am searching for any photographs showing officials of the company (London Midland Railway) on which he may appear.   I am currently awaiting a reply from the National Railway Museum re their archives.

If you google Settle-Carlisle railway, you will see there are several boks for sale about the construction of the line with old photos and maps.  The two I spotted were each less than £5 or £6 each.

Thanks AC
I've seen several books but they all seem to concentrate on the building structures or the engines.  I hope the Railway Museum can dig something out for me.  Thanks anyway
