the Obadiah I have is the one born I think in approx 1760 as his his son Samuel was born in 1789 and he married a Mary Lees they had 7 children including Enoch mayer 1820 Anne mayer 1812 Elizabeth mayer 1822 Rachael Mayer 1825 and an Emma Mayer, Enoch is my great great grandfather he had a son called Frederick William mayer and his daughter Ellen was my nan she died in Wallasey in Liverpool in the 60's, I know one of the Greenbanks who married a Mayer had a sister called jane greenbanks who married a Thomas Chatfield and they are married into the Wedgewood family, complicated I know but they all seem to call there families the same christian names so you have many Obadiahs and Samuels, I was curious as to where my branch came from, somebody told me they came from Meissen in germany but not sure now, thanks for your prompt replies and links jayne :)

Hi Jayne

Many Thanks
