Title: William C Malpass
Post by: Serenity1948 on Sunday 16 August 09 17:04 BST (UK)

My grandmother, Annie Connah (maiden surname), Hopwood (first marriage surname) married William C Malpass in 1939.  It was her second marriage after becoming a widow a couple of years earlier (& being left with 5 children at the age of 37!). William's profession is shown as traveller on their marriage certificate & I can't find any other information regarding him.

I realise this is a very long shot at finding anything buy hey....

Help or ideas welcomed.

Many thanks - Carole

" Traveller ", in that context and time, would mean 'Travelling Salesman'  ;)

Hi,
How old is William on the marriage certificate and what was his fathers name and occupation.Names of witnesses may help. There is a William Charles Malpass born 1915 mothers name Greenaway (possibly Eliza M that married a John Malpass in Stourbridge in 1914)
Sounds like your William might be older.
Best wishes
 Cathy :)

Please don t mention anyone possibly living, thanks.
