Hi,
I'm looking for an 'Obedience' born about 1811 in Hertfordshire, England. Maiden name is Gault, married in 1836 to John Lawerence. I cannot find her anywhere in England and hoping someone could have a look at the U.S Census's to see if she is on there. There is an Obedience Young on 1920 census of about the right age - could someone please see what her place of birth is?
thank you very much

Query Tara?
Obedience would have been over 100 yrs old in 1920....are you sure you want this checking?
all the best
Jan
ps. The Obedience states emigrated to US in 1812, no place of birth apart from England

Hi Jan,
Thank for that, not the right Obedience as she was still in England in 1836. Census said she was 112 yrs - seems very old but possible i guess...
cheers,
Tara

One the original image it looks more like Obedience.
The 1871 census for Hastings has an Obedience E Gault, aged 31, a nurse from London in the household of Sarah Prince (RG10/1032/69/3 - must surely be a relative !
