Does anyone know if there are any on-line resources to look up who was residing at 26 Millar Terrace, Rutherglen from about 1905 through 1911?

Hi there,
I currently live in Rutherglen. The house is still there, you can see it on google maps, street view and can make out no. 26. If you have not found out this information yet, I will send a letter to the current resident asking them to look at their house deeds to see who the owner was in 1905-1911. This may not help you with residents at the time, but worth a try.
Let me know if you want me to do this.
Regards,
Emma

Hi Emma,
I would love to find out, but not to the bother of someone who may be living there currently. I have done a "Google-Earth" look at it.......fascinating that it still stands....but the angle does not permit much detail.
I understand these house were built by an association and were probably rented, rather than owned, during that period, so deed records may not help. I had hoped there may be some online city directory. Here, in the US, a good many city directories from a wide variety of time frames can be found.
On the ships manifest for my great-grandfather and grandfather's emigration to the US, this address was given for my great-grandmother and the rest of the family (who followed the next year.) I have wondered if the rest of the family were staying with relatives who I have not discovered yet.
Thanks very much for the kind offer. It is people like you who make this such a wonderful forum!

Hi Donn,
I doubt you will find anything online.
Glasgow's Mitchell Library Archives holds the Property Valuation Register for Rutherglen and I have used it a few times. It will record both the owner and the tenant for each year. These are huge dusty manuscript books.
Next time I go the Mitchell I will have a quick look.
You might drop me an email in case I can't find your Rootschat post again.
As Emma correctly states, you can find the address on Google's Street Level. I have added the image, but you should go to Google and you can zoom in.

Daber,
Thank you so very much for the photo! I appreciate your kindness to take the time to do this for me.
I have sent a separate email to the address you gave, but I just wanted to acknowledge this on the thread.........another example of how great the users here are.

Hi Donn
Have you got the details from the 1901 census to see whether the family you are looking to trace were already there?
Monica :)
