hi Smid

welcome to rootschat  :)

might be difficult to find anymore info. at least till the 1911 census comes out
how old was davids mother in 1898/1901 ?(38 in 1901 ? born where ?)
was bruce annie's maiden name or a married surname ?
have you found a death certificate for her ?
perhaps david signed her death certificate  :-\
one small point , newtyle actually comes under angus in 1898/1901  on scotlandspeople(although i thought it was in perthshire)

Hello ev
Thanks for the reply and the welcome, I do have all the info on Annie Bruce (MS) but no David anywhere (1911 census can't come soon enough) his 1/2 sister later had a son called David Taylor Bruce Leslie. I have been looking at the CWGC site and there are a few (David Bruce) listed but no mention of Annie as next of kin.

Hi, yes I know but the family were only around Newtyle around 1901 (as far as I know) by WW1 could have been anywhere as they were farm workers.
